Premium membership

Who thinks there should be premium membership on WP? You can use Wings to pay to be a premium member for a period of time. Premium members get more advantages than normal members, like, they can purchase exclusive pets, enter in certain competitions, get daily interest and much more that I can't think of now.

I don't actually know if that is a good idea.Because premium memberships on a lot of websites causes unfairness and teasing.Also it causes people to feel like they aren't very special.

I agree with Maryritai. But, with premium memberships on other games, you have to pay real money and a lot of people can't do that. However, if we do it with Wings then it would certainly be more fair. However, it wouldn't really have a meaning if everyone paid and was a premium member.

We are not dissing you or whatever it just with premium membership and If everyone joins it then it has no purpose at all.

I agree with alvie and Mary! It gets unfair sometimes. I once loved a site, then premium membership came, I started hating it. It's sometimes not fair for people, that never can receive a high amount of wings. Anyway, I think we should just have exclusive pets for other things.

Okay, I was just suggesting anyway, because the site has fallen inactive lately.

I disagree with everyone :/ I think Premium Membership would be a great idea; it would help support us and allow people to feel good about donating and helping us on here. I could design a few Premium pets for them if you'd like ^^ I understand how you guys would see it as being unfair, but then again it would also help this site grow and maybe even allow us to get a really good coder on here to help out with some options that we can't do by ourselves.

So yes, I support the idea ;3

I just don't think it would be too bad of an idea as everyone is saying it is ^^ It could really help this site improve in a lot of ways. I've been both a Premium member and a Regular member on sites, and while I did feel slightly jealous towards those Premium members, I also respected them. If someone is willing to give away part of their money to help the development of a site without something in return that isn't pixel, I think they should be allowed better benefits. And as a Premium member, I did feel like people respected me back, for without a site's donators there probably wouldn't even be a site. Not to mention I felt pride ^^ I think it would be nice for people joining Wildlife Paradise to feel the same.

I get kinda what you mean.On some Main Sites,I was just a normal person but on the Spin-offs I could be a Special Member,I felt Special.On another Site(this was about let see a year ago),The Owners let the Old Members get a taste of premium membership,Which was Fun.

But What you need to learn it that if Everyone can join the Membership,then the Membership isn't much fun at all.

Need to learn? You almost make it sound like I'm an ignorant child ^^ I was not saying that everyone could join the membership, unless everyone feels like donating that is. I was thinking we could have something similar to cat-tails; if you donate a specific amount of money then you can be a Premium member for a certain amount of time. Premium members would get an allowance of Wings, not to mention are allowed to receive pets that won't be admitted to the general population. They would then feel that donating was a good idea on their part and might even donate in the future.

And when I said I was a Premium member, I was saying I actually paid for it. I donated 10 dollars to Cat-tails so that I would have better privileges, and I don't regret it.

You make this idea sound so good, Wrath. xD However, the kind of democracy on WP listens to the majority of users. I'll ask phoebe11850 about this. I'll put a poll of this on the portal.

I may seem to be on the no side, but actually, I'm with wrath. I think we do need premium membership to make the site more active. So basically I'm in the neutral zone. The thing is, we need to have a discussion on this, because everything has its negatives and pluses. Anyway, voting YES! (sort of changed her mind)

oh yeah, also, I think that for now, premium membership (if it ends up happening) should not have that many exclusive things at the very start, just gradually make it up to the top, so people won't feel so sad with premium membership. One more thing, I think we should have competitions, that would win you premium membership!

If we have too many premium membership prize competitions, eventually, everyone will be one I think.

And If we have to less,A lot people will leave because of Unfairness.

As for the idea of contests, I think there should be one at the very beginning where we release the option ;3 So that the public knows what they can actually get out of it and all. I suggest putting it on the actual 'Adopt some Pets' section though ^^ If there's a promocode I don't think we can restrict how many the person gets, and if they adopt too many they can just sell all of them to others and thus the pets won't be rare anymore.

@Maryritai- A lot of people will leave because of unfairness...? ._. I thought I'd already explained several times. It is not unfair; the people are paying for their privileges. It will also give some people something to strive for. Not to mention it will, in the end, help the site overall since we can get a profit and perhaps hire a coder to help out and make the overall experience a more enjoyable one. Some people might think it unfair because they cannot pay real money, but then again they can still trade the Premium members for any pets that they want.
And please, if you're trying to keep up a good argument, use proper grammar and punctuation. Not to mention explain what you're trying to say. I am only a few years older than yourself so it's not like it's impossible for you.

I meant a few, like once a year.

There aren't many members who actually check WP often, there are quite a few actually. So eventually, after a few years, everyone becomes a premium member if we put up competitions every year.

And I don't think we'll need promocodes to put up premium membership pets, I think we can just create a new usergroup on WP called Premium Membership and use the adoptable settings to allow only users in that group to adopt it, meaning it can only be seen by them. However, if you think they will just adopt too many pets, you can always put a limit on the number of pets that can be adopted.

Wow. Lots of ideas have been developing over the thread, and it is sounding better and better! Maybe we can sort of form all the ideas into one great one.

I just want to share some experiences i've had. On a site that i am a member on, the premium memberships are quite unfair. Most of the people there are premium members - wow, people are willing to pay - , and the rest like me, well, it makes you feel kind of left out. Being a premium member offers a LOT of privileges, perhaps if we were to have premium memberships on WP too, perhaps we could make the privileges less "leave outing" -able.

Another experience. On a website, I was basically a BETA tester. There were no such things as members, all was good. Everyone is the same, no one is better than anyone else. Then one day, members existed. Basically, it was saying that if you don't pay for memberships, you cannot participate in the game anymore. You basically couldn't do anything.

I hope these experiences will help you decide whether we will have the memberships or not, and how they are "structured".

The Premium Memberships I was thinking are just benefits in the game. Like, you can adopt special exclusive pets, enter premium-only competitions, receive and income of wings once a week etc. They just give benefits to the player. I'm thinking of putting up a high price for becoming a premium, something like, 20k Wings or higher, so premium members actually deserve getting more advantages after paying that much money.

But I think their memberships need to be renewed once a month, just so it won't be that the whole of WP doesn't become a premium. It actually makes some sort of goal for the members. Click pets, and receive rewards.

That sounds good! But first. Let's actually GET people on the site and the forum.
